The first benefit of using microsoft access is the ability to import files from many different external sources. Also Microsoft Access allows the use of two values in each cell. In Microsoft Access it is easier to create and sort tabs for record keeping. I would use it for personal finance and the flow of money. I would also use it to keep track of inventory in my private business.

The first game I played was Spam Scam Slam. I chose this game because I hate getting spam and would like to learn how to better prevent it. I learned that one must be careful when opening emails from suspicious senders.

The second game I played was Identity Theft Faceoff. I wanted to learn how to protect myself from identity theft. I learned that if my identity gets stolen I can call one of three major consumer reporting companies.

The third game I played was phishing scams. I was intrigued by phishing, and wanted to see what would happen when the fish got hooked. I learned that what may seem like a harmless email from a trusted company, is probably not what it seems.

The last game I played was The Case of the cyber criminal. I didnt know what to expect from this game, it mostly looked interesting so I decided to play it. This game was an accumulation of the ideas that were presented in the other games.

Use Case Name:	ATM withdrawal

Scope:	The Customer can check amount of money in his account, withdraw money, or in some cases deposit money.
Stakeholders and Interests:	The customer wants to withdraw or deposit money. The bank wants to know how much money the customer is giving or taking.
Primary Actor:	The customer, in this case Daniel Plainveiw.
Preconditions:	Customer must have correct bank card along with the correct password. Then the customer must have sufficient funds for his request.
Trigger:	Customer decides to withdraw money from his checking account.

Part 1

The five blogs that I commented on were; Justin Stephenson, Craig Fisk, Kyle Griffin, Matt Griffin, and Josh Mitchell.

Part 2

I researched other uses for the playstation 3. First Playstation 3 has a free network. Meaning you can play games and download updates for free. The PS3 also has a blue ray disc player and a hdmi port, which allows for high definition gaming and movies. Owners also have the ability to download mp3 and video files from their ipod or computer and listen to them on their playstation. There is also wireless file sharing that is possible with the ps3. If you are into photography you can plug in your digital camera and view the pictures on you ps3.

Section A

I think that in the big picture of the internet my computer has a very small role. Of course there is always a small chance that my computer will get hacked and my identity stolen, but i dont really think I am at risk. I do think that my computer plays a larger role in the Limewire network. I have downloaded a lot of music from the Limewire network and I view that as contributing to the file sharing community.

Section B

When I am surfing the web I am usually using a wireless connection on my laptop. I dont think it is one of the best connections I can use. I have learned that a wired cable connection is the best possible internet connection. I have learned that a wired connection is faster than a wireless connection, and that I am missing out on high speed downloads.

Section E

Since I use a wireless connection at home to usually surf the internet I have to be worried about someone getting into my network and looking at the things I do online. Realistically I dont think anyone in my neighborhood has the know how to do that type of thing. However one can never be too sure. A hacker could also use my network to hack into my computer and steal my identity. Again I dont think I am at a high risk but you never know.

Chapter 5 Lab

Right now I use a Netgear Wireless usb adapter which plugs into my desktop. The wireless adapter gets service from a netgear wireless router, from a DSl link. Most of the time it is pretty fast, however wireless is never that reliable. Sometimes wireless routers have good days and sometimes bad days. I want to end up with a Netgear HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit, which comes with two access point/bridges.

1. First I will upgrade to broadband which is a cable connection.

2. I will be able to use my original router, I just have to plug in the new cable connection, and one of the two access point/bridges from the Wireless-N Networking Kit into my router. The new Netgear HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit will serve as an access point.

3. I will then plug the other bridge/access point into my playstation three or my desktop using an ethernet wire.

4. After all is connected I turn everything on and press the WPS(wireless pointing device) button on both Netgear HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit, and wait for all the connections to recognize each other.

5. If all goes well I should be able to stream 2gb videos through the wired network flawlessly, or download files wirelessly at “wired” speeds of up to 243Mbps.

I still use windows xp home edition. I would like to explore the world of windows vista. I am currently happy with windows xp and I want to know how vista will improve my life.

Today I could go to the microsoft website and research windows vista. The reason I would do this is to get first hand information from the developer. I think that this would help me learn more about vista and how it would be a better operating system than xp.

When I am done researching from the microsoft website, I will continue the the world wide web. Here I will look up and read reviews of windows vista. I know that when vista first came out it did not get a warm reception. I will find out if vista has improved since then.

After I have done my research I will actually try vista out for myself. I will either test my friends version of vista (on his computer of course) or download a trial of vista. This way I will be able to try vista first hand and figure out if it is really worth me purchasing it.

For the final installment of exploring windows vista I would probably purchase it. If my three past explorations turn out to be successful I will purchase windows vista. After my purchase I will be able to access all the great new applications that vista has to offer.

I chose windows vista because it is the latest and the greatest operating system from microsoft. I think that it will be an improvement from windows xp. I use my computer for schoolwork and entertainment. I need an operating system that will make it easy to do both efficiently. I think that after exploring windows vista and purchasing it, my computer will improve, because vista will make it easier to both do homework and play videogames.
